I've an idea. Install a script for byte compiling the files in
/usr/share/jed/compile/. If the package is installed, it runs this scipt
itself. If jed is updated, jed runs all the scripts in /u/s/j/compile/.
So all .slc and .dfa files should be up to date everytime.
