Yes, as it fixes some small but annoying bugs.

This is why I did not like the idea of patching site.sl in the first place.

I did a "half-fix" by uploading a file defaults.sl that could replace
the offending patch.

Due to 

  a) my inexperience
  b) my hesitance to remove other peoples work without asking
  c) lack of time

I did not remove the patch, nor did I test the build.

What needs to be done:

  * add a rule to place defaults.sl in /usr/share/jed/lib/
  * remove 40_site.sl-startup (file and list entry)
  * test

If you choose this way, I volunteer to update the documentation.

Alternatively, Jörg could update the patch to the new site.sl.
