I still see the need: with the patch of site.sl, there is no way
an administrator can abort the evaluation of all files in jed.d/
(short of renaming them to something other than *.sl). We do not
know what other packages will place there and where it might
interfere or use up a lot of ressources.

So my suggestion is still to support --skip-jed-d.

(And I am still in favour of a Debian defaults.sl instead of a dpatch for
setting up jed.d/.)
