It's a package that causes some trouble in unstable/experimental,
currently. :-)

I think a backport of the Jed package needs some effort, because X11R7
ist not in stable. If your are familiar with building Debian packages you
can try to build it. You need to replace the build-dependencies
libxft-dev and libxt-dev by xlibs-dev. I don't have a stable build
environment to test it.
