The bug in question is solved in libslang2 (2.0.6-1):

  slang2 (2.0.6-1) unstable; urgency=low
  ...
   Change slang_install_prefix to /usr. Closes: #353282.

so we could remove the path-setting part of the code in defaults.sl and
instead make jed-common depend on libslang2 (>= 2.0.6-1).

We still have to think about the documentation path... I will look into this
once I have 0.99.18 installed.
