I dug a little further and discovered that the problem comes from the
inclusion of the boxquote.sl file, which is done through the
get-orig-source rule in debian.rules. Each time I use this ruel, I get a
different tarball.  Try yourself:

$ ./debian/rules get-orig-source > /dev/null 2>&1
$ ls -l jed-extra_2.1.3.orig.tar.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 rafael rafael 395927 2006-09-17 15:58 jed-extra_2.1.3.orig.tar.gz
$ ./debian/rules get-orig-source > /dev/null 2>&1
$ ls -l jed-extra_2.1.3.orig.tar.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 rafael rafael 396017 2006-09-17 15:58 jed-extra_2.1.3.orig.tar.gz

The difference is in the time stamp of the boxquote directory, which is
appended to the jedmodes tarball. I am puzzled about this behavior.

Since the tarball did not really change between the 2.1.3-1 and 2.1.3-2
releases, I will reupload the later with the older tarball. I hope it
will work this time.
