So why is jed than packed with this patch?

Is this *very* unusual behaviour documented anywhere?
Are there plans to fix it at some stage?
I know, it is "experimental", but I'd still like to see a prominent
warning somewhere. (I am glad I gave my bugreport here at the debian list
and not directly to John.)
At least for me, it renders jed
unusable, as I rely on instant feedback when working with a mouse.
