Hello,
Apologies in advance if debian-devel is the wrong list. I think this is
a bug but I don't know against which virtual package so I am posting it
here in the hope that someone will see it.
The "slirp" source package in testing has been "taken-over" by the "Debian
JED Group"---but what they are packaging is "slang-slirp" which is an
entirely different game---see below.
Both packages.qa.debian.org and bugs.debian.org seem to have got
these two mixed up as well not to mention the Debian pool which
has them in the same directory.
I don't subscribe to -devel yet so please reply to me directly as
well.
Thanks and Regards,
Kapil.

Package: slang-slirp
Version: 1.7.6.r3-2
Description: C code generator for the S-Lang scripting language SLIRP
is a C code generator, aimed at simplifying the process of creating
modules for the S-Lang scripting language. Using it can dramatically
reduce the time and effort required to make C, C++, and FORTRAN code
callable directly from the S-Lang interpreter.
SLIRP can also generate Makefiles to automate the module build
process, as well as pure C bindings for C++ code (cfront mode), or empty
(stub) implementations for the interface(s) specified by its input. The
code emitted in the latter two cases has no dependencies upon S-Lang
whatsoever.

Package: slirp
Version: 1.0.16-2
Description: SLIP/PPP emulator using a dial up shell account Slirp
is a TCP/IP emulator which turns an ordinary shell account into a
(C)SLIP/PPP account. This allows shell users to use all the funky
Internet applications like Netscape, Mosaic, CUSeeMe, etc.
Please note that maybe your ISP really doesn't like you using
slirp, because they want to charge more for a ppp connection, so use
it at your own risk.
