After a bit of testing, I've managed to have new experimental packages=20
available. They fix quite a lot of bugs, which is good, but might introduce=
=20
a number of other bugs.

Some of the changes which could be moved to the 'unstable' packages are=20
related to the debian-specific stuff:

- use 'generic' target for systems which do not have an specific target or=
=20
fail to build (sparc). Solar Designer thinks it's ok to do this. We can=20
trust the tests john makes after being compiled or even add the=20
'testbuild' mechanism I added in the experimental branch

- use 'start-stop-daemon' to start and stop the john process. The current=
=20
code to extract the PID will not work since it's not backgrounded and the=
=20
code to mail the passwords should run when 'cronjob stop' is run. The code=
=20
in the experimental version will work but needs to be changed to adapt to=
=20
the behaviour of the stable release. I.e.:
	- john.rec -> restore
	- instead of --private -> cd to the dir (could use the --chdir=20
option from start-stop-daemon instead of 'cd X && john')
[ Note: This changes fix some important bugs like #213164=20
and #251172 ]

I'm uploading the packages right now, further testing, as always, is=20
encouraged.

Regards

Javier
