History has been preserved, thanks to cvs2svn.

It has nothing to do with CDBS, AFAICT. There's a nice tool called
svn-buildpackage which handles the merging of the debian/ tree into the
upstream source at build-time, and has been working more than
satisfyingly in the GNOME Team for a long time.

Changes to the upstream source code should be made in the form of
patches in debian/patches, which makes them much easier to handle.

Indeed, my fault. Will disable it as soon as possible.

I thought they already were. Added to my to do list. Of course other
