Hi Guilherme,
I'm CCing this mail also to pkg-john mailing list, so that it serves as future
reference (archives are useful, indeed).
I was starting to tag john >= 1.6-38, since I'm currently maintaining 1.7.2 in
unstable. I was unable to commit:
Transmitting file data ........
svn: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: Can't open file '/svn/pkg-john/db/write-lock': Permission denied
Looking on Alioth, I found that your last commit (as ftlerror-guest) locked the
"db/write-lock" file.
A quick fix is:
$ ssh ftlerror-guest at alioth.debian.org
$ chmod g+w /svn/pkg-john/db/write-lock
otherwise, please set umask 0002 when you login on Alioth, so that the groups
have write permissions by default.
I'll contact Alioth admins if I receive no reply in a timely manner :)
Kindly,
David
