Not to mention that it's my choice, not some KDE developer's choice, as to who and what I encrypt email to.

Really it's none of your business what I do.  You should enable the software to work to my requirements, not impose your own ideas of what should and shouldn't be done.  Afterall, if gnupg wasn't supposed to do it, it wouldn't.
