So may be kmail could issue a message that partial sync or rebuilding index WITHOUT prior syncing might loose mails. 

Do you want to sync your (dimap) folders prior to <action> to avoid possible loss of mail?
default YES

BTW I doubt, that normal users will be able to understand "dimap".
