could you please update to the latest version of the kolab packages?
ptclient support was removed from those packages. Including ptclient was an
experimental option to enable LDAP group support.

I am not too sure if the reason why you can't authenticate has got something
to do with the ptclient errors you see in your syslog - but you should
upgrade nevertheless to isolate the problem.

If you still get authentication errors please try setting your own passwords
in the LDIF file like explained in my mail from 19.05.06 (subject: Re:
[pkg-kolab] Passwords).
You might as well have your saslauthd configuration wrong - see below.

To remove the old LDAP data you will have to stop slapd and remove all the
files below /var/lib/ldap/ . After that you will have to slapadd your ldif
file again like described in the kolab README.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ you seem to search for objectClass here instead of the
mail Attribute or the uid Attribute. Is your /etc/saslauthd.conf set up
properly?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ here your bind dn is empty. This might be
another problem in your /etc/saslauthd.conf configuration

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ and here the search base is not
set either - /etc/saslauthd.conf?

[...]

this is just a guess...
