Hi,

lighttpd is not available for Debian/stable since it wasn't in the archives when
Sarge was released - and lighttpd will never get into Sarge, because no new
software is ever added to a stable release.
Backporting it should be possible, but a simple recompilation won't do, because
lighttpd depends on packages that are not available in stable (eg.
libmemcache-dev).

best,

Torsten
