I saw that in the bug report as well. I am a little unclear how
software packaging details are a concern for the upstream developer.

If the opinion of the upstream devs really matter on packaging issues,
shouldn't Debian still be distributing giant bundled KDE packages
instead of breaking them out into modular application, library and
development packages?
