We will release Etch with 2.6.18, that is the reason vorlon downgraded
the severity, so we can only fix this in experimental, or the Release
Managers will kill me ;) (or send the black helicopters).

There is an alioth branch for pkg-lirc/lirc that is quite experiemntal,
both updtream source and packagaing, if you are into hardcore stuff, you
may want to help us out by testing it.

If you are interested, let us know and I will give you instructions on
how to break your system^W^W^Wtry this out.
