Hi there,

Yes, the first suggestion I would make is, if you are experiencing this
problem, to use the reportbug tool to file a bug in the Debian Bug
Tracking System, or to either email the lirc maintainers mailing list:
See the link at http://pkg-lirc.alioth.debian.org/ that points to:
https://alioth.debian.org/mail/?group_id=30487

In any of these ways, several experts in lirc can answer your questions,
and the plus of using the BTS is that other users that are in the same
trouble as you are can reply to the bug, add comments or how they fixed
it, or just confirm that the bug is there for them too.

I am sorry, but I really don't have much time atm to dedicate to
troubleshooting your problem, that's why I think "load-balancing" your
request in the right places can be a good solution for you :)

Please file a bug, include all the info you quoted in this email,
including as much detail as you can:

- Hardware you have
- Debian version
- Kernel version (Debian vainilla or custom?)
- Are you using udev? What version?
- All the other good info you already provided

Thanks for reporting these problems.

Why is lirc installed here? Are you using debian's lirc pàckage or your
own custom built one? The problem could be here. What version of lirc is
this?

Again, I think you are mixing debian with custom built stuff and I am
not sure wether this will work, and might be the cause of your trouble.

Thanks.
