The thing is that the default lirc configuration assumes that there is a
IR remote supported by the kernel available. There are many options in
this case:
- If you don't plan to use lirc, removing the package is the sensible
approach.
- If you plan to use lirc at a later point, you could disable and
stop lircd.service and lircd.socket using systemd.
- If you want to use lirc as of now, you need to configure it. Doing
so, this message is sort of helpful in some cases.
So, unless there is more input, I will close this as not-a-bug.
