Hm...declaring lirc as a dep means pulling in the complete daemon - I
see no reason for any client package to do this (?) Normally, a package
should depend on liblirc-client0 to resolve the linker deps, but nothing
more. So: Which package is pulling in lirc?
The list of lirc rdepends is (removing lirc package stuff)
Are you using any of these packages? Or, is lirc pulled in via the
Suggests: in liblirc_client0 (which has a vast list of rdeps)?
Bottom line: requiring lirc is requiring a usable daemon. Apps just
having lirc as an option, the normal case, should require liblirc-client0.
