[Pkg-ltsp-devel] nearly ready for release?

hey folks, i've been working on a few patches, and most of our TODO
items now can be resolved with them. :)

i made a workaround for the issue with the initramfs-tools tweak for
MODULES=netboot (which largely just decreases the size of the innitramfs
image), that only enables that if mkinitramfs supports it. so we should
be able to upload without waiting for a fix in initramfs-tools (debian
bug #352669), and as soon as it gets supported, my code will make use
of that feature.

tracked down the passwd bug, filed a patch, and it sounds like the code
may be obsoleted soon. (debian bug #353813)

i haven't looked into merging more recent ubuntu changes, but if we can
get pere's changes and my changes into main, i think we are essentially
ready for release. the passwd bug is still an issue, but we can file a
bug on ltsp that describes the workaround (using --prompt-rootpass)
until it gets fixed in passwd.

i have a branch which has my patches against pkg-ltsp main:

http://llama.freegeek.org/~vagrant/bzr-archives/ltsp/vagrant-main

and my branch based off of petter's branch:

http://llama.freegeek.org/~vagrant/bzr-archives/ltsp/skolefixes

i've been unable to push directly to main, without messing up the
permissions on the repository, because a backport of python2.4-paramiko
is unavailable in sarge, which is needed for "bzr push sftp://...". i
don't have a working sid chroot to mess with (at least, not until i can
upgrade my hard-drive on my laptop, which involves undoing almost every
single screw... and of course, (re)configuring everything).

live well,
  vagrant
