I agree, backward compatibility with Sarge is necessary due to CDDs
needs but we can't hurt the Etch users, so early or late (and not now
IMHO), we should get rid of not needed hacks and workaround into ltsp
sid package and keep a backport to sarge until etch release.

We need to take in count transitions and all that, for example: If we
want to consider some parts of Ubuntu strategy for local devices[0].
We can't deny it to Etch users but will be hard to support in Sarge
(around October, November).
