It's about LTSP clients freezing the boot during ipconfig call with the "eth0: link up" message. In fact it's related to #395145. The question is: Amadeu, have you used initramfs-tools >= 0.88? If not, please consider using it and trying again. Take a look at #387808. 

BTW, Amadeu's workaround actually fixes the problem, we have worked together on it :)
