indeed, i didnt want to suggest that you change the stable version you
use ;) i just wanted to point out that there is no fiddling needed
anymore in the future releases, alsa emulates and defaults to a virtual
device on top of a pulseaudio stream here, so all apps using alsa will
just automatically fall back to this stream ... in ubuntu nearly all
apps (apart from the rare ones that use hardcoded /dev/dsp access) work
right out of the box ...
that includes arts.
