I've used both.  The user space server have the advantage of looking
up netgroup membership every time a mount is tested, so it is more
convenient in a large installation.  unfs3 uses a NFS protocol that
support files >2 GiB, but fail to handle group mebmership correctly
(#432896).  I suspect the latter might break a LTSP boot.

So to summarize, I am quite sure that nfs-user-server can be used with
LTSP, and more unsure if unfs3 will work.
