I agree that this is not a bug in the package, BUT you didn't care to
mention this in the bug report. I did check for help there first. So how
should I know?

First of all I didn't report the bug, just in case you didn't notice.
All I did was give you the information you asked for in the bug report,
namely the kernel version.

I did not get this message. I only got that one line that was mentioned
in the original bug report. If Noel, who reported the bug, or anyone
else, whould have run something else to get this message, how about
telling them? 

Finally one last question, how come it worked with the old version. I
never loaded the dm module by hand, but still it works with sarge, but
not in etch or sid. I would say it might have to do with you removing
the init script that used to modprobe dm_mod, don't you think?
