Huh. did i make a mistake ? Damn. What was the bug number of the root bug ?

That is not the problem here, i better file a separate bug report.

Theproblem is that on PReP setups, you cannot pass that root= command to the
kernel in another way than typingit in at the console by hand on every reboot.
