/etc/init.d/lvm2 status ?

Hello,

I'm the maintainer of system-config-lvm.

In the past, I got several reports that system-config-lvm does not work
when dm_mod is not loaded.
So I added a modprobe command to s-c-l's start script.

Then #519579 and #522625 came up, so I decided to call 'invoke-rc.d lvm2
start' instead of 'modprobe dm_mod'.

However, this is a bit of overhead if somebody starts s-c-l several
times in a row.

To prevent this I would like to have a status function in lvm2's init
script.

Please tell me if you're willing to implement that, and a rough time
estimate if so.

Then I will also open a whishlist bug.
I wanted to contact you directly in the hope to get a faster response,
since a wishlist bug can be easily missed when there are lots of more
important bugs to work on.

Regards,
