Package: lvm2
Version: 2.02.51-1
Severity: wishlist
Starting with version 2.02.51-1, lvm2 depends on udev (through dmsetup).
I run a server with a custom kernel, no USB support, in which no one
ever plugs anything, and that works very well with static configuration.
I don't want or need to run udev on that server, and so far my simple LVM
setup has worked very well without it.
Please consider allowing to use LVM without udev. What changes happened
in the last version that would require dmsetup and udev?
