I have a Dell 2950 with a PERC 5/i controller and 3.7Tb of RAIDed disk
space. I'm running Debian Etch and have had the same problem with
kernel 2.6.18-6-amd64 and 2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-amd64. It seems that
something (kernel or LVM is not able to expand the disk to more than
about 1.41 TB:
