Any progress on this bug?
Any hints where to start looking for a cause?

Otherwise this unfortunately is another "me too" bugreport for now. I'm
getting hit by this bug on a production machine, which is extremely
annoying as it causes the whole machine to hang.

This is more or less reproducable: I rely on daily snapshot creation for
backup purposes. The system doesn't hang on every snapshot creation, but
it doesn't run for more than three or four days whithout hang.

Concerning the severity, citing debian policy
(http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer.en.html)
> critical
> makes unrelated software on the system (or the whole system) break,
> or causes serious data loss, or introduces a security hole on systems
> where you install the package.

Doubtlessly this is the case for more than one or two people. So please
stop playing the severity game and lets start fixing this bug. It's
original report is more than two years old now. Thank you.

Some more information:

I've got a second, almost identical machine (concerning mainboard,
kernel version, debian version, filesystem setup...), which does lvm
snapshots without any problem.

Source volumes for the snapshots are always XFS, no MD devices involved.

The machine which hangs has a significantly higher filesystem activity
on some of the volumes than the one which runs the snapshots ok. For now
this is the only significant difference I can produce.

Hanging machine has 1x Quadcore Opteron, working machine has 2x QC
Opterons. But I don't think this makes any difference.

Any further hints are appreciated...
