Bug#691271: lvm2: Losing data when moving LV between regular HD → SSD

Package: lvm2
Version: 2.02.95-4
Severity: important

Hi,

I'm not sure if this should be reported against the LVM package or
against the kernel.

Today I've tried to move data[0] between my old HD to my new SSD. I first
set issue_discards = 1 in the /etc/lvm/lvm.conf config file. I then used
pvmove[0] to do the migration.

After the command has succeeded, I tried to mount it again, but it
failed to find a valid filesystem.

I've hopefully been able to find the backups of the old layout and
restore it. I tried again a 2nd time and it gave me the same result.

It worked perfectly when I've reverted the issue_discards setting back to 0.

Cheers

Laurent Bigonville
