Not sure what the patch would do, it would still not work with such a
patch, even though it's documented to.

The problem is clearly the missing dependency.

It could be mitigated by documenting this dependency in the lvmcache
manpage, or moving that manpage to thin-provisioning-tools.

Correct dependencies would be best, of course.
