Package: lyx-qt
Version: 1.3.4-1
Severity: normal

When I select a word or even a paragraph (by clicking and dragging)
the selection tends to disappear, even though I make no alternate
selection and don't click anywhere.

This is particularly likely to happen when I move up to the menu to
make a selection. However, I believe it has happened while I remained
within the main window.

This makes it difficult or impossible to apply formatting changes to
existing text.

Example:
start lyx-qt.
File | new
Type "this is some text." in the window.
Click and drag to select "some".
Click layout. The focus often disappears as the mouse moves over the button
bar or the menu bar (or on clicking same). Or it can disappear after the
click on the menu.

The behavior appears somewhat random, but it happens frequently.

I'm running under KDE 3.2.2.

I'll close it then. Thanks!
