I have made dirty-and-quick Debian/unstable package of 1.4.1 --
it is available on http://matej.ceplovi.cz/progs/debian/lyx/ . It
is not lintian clean, but it works for me, pretty well.

You have to include in Debian new package -- dvipost -- used by
tracking changes in LyX. The package for that (lintian clean) is
available at the same URL as above.
