It isn't. It's just a program which makes a sensible decision on which
browser to use. I thought policy described the procedure but
apparently it doesn't. Anyway, it's a good script to use because it
honors the BROWSER variable, otherwise tries to call x-www-browser
then www-browser.
The syntax is simple: sensible-browser "<url>"
xdg-open also honors the desktop environment setting, but it isn't
available in Debian yet.
