(I guess the styles menu is the drop down box in the upper left.)
There's no Standard style there, but "Brieftext" means "text of the letter",
so this is the style meant for the text part. 
The old version of lyx didn't export any style declaration for the table
cells, which worked well (for my purpose).

Looks like a bug, and as I can reproduce it on 1.4.2/Solaris,
you should post it upstream (lyx-users and bugzilla).
