For 1.5: No. For 1.4: Yes, because LyX is compiled with exceptions
disabled. That will cause a crash instead of a controlled exit if
something goes wrong. See also

Yes, we try to minimize the changes and include only what is absolutely
necessary, but the exceptions are problematic.
