I meant of course the other way round.

I don't know if /etc/lyxrc was read by some LyX version in the past, but 
at least from 1.3.x on LyX does _not_ read that file.

I'd prefer this, but if Pelle wants to patch the source to directly 
read /etc/lyxrc I am happy with that, too.
