Well if you want to feed us with patches it would help if you setup your
enviroment something like this:
mkdir -p pkg-lyx/build-area
mkdir pkg-lyx/tarballs
svn co svn://svn.debian.org/pkg-lyx/lyx/trunk
Now you've to install svn-buildpackage and place the upstream tarball you'd
like to work with in pkg-lyx/tarballs.
After that you can cd to pkg-lyx/trunk and build with
svn-buildpackage -us -uc -rfakeroot
You've to install the Build-Deps and fakeroot aswell.
At least that's how I work in most cases. Other developers might prefer
another workflow.
