That it's obvious and can't be fixed. It's simply a new revision of the
file format used by LyX 1.5.x.

Your only option is to wait for a backport or to use Debian/testing.
Or, if you want to stay with LyX 1.4.x, you've to checkout the 1.4.5.1
/debian dir from the svn and build that package on your own. That's the
1.4.x version with backported support for the new 1.5.x file format.
