At least two people have observed that the crashing of LyX 1.5.4 on
startup with the Qt from unstable can be avoided by installing more Qt
libraries; see

We are not sure which ones are necessary (possibly libsmokeqt4-1) but
having all of ^libqt4-* except the debug packages seems sufficient.
Maybe someone else will have more precise information.
