When I try to view the User Guide, I do indeed now see errors in the
error box:

LaTex error: command \DH unavailable in encoding OT1

followed by three more such errors, with \dh, \TH and \th

In the description pane (for \DH):

 ...& ' & p &  &  &  & \textdegree{} &  & 
                                                   &  & \tabularnewline
Your command was ignored.
Type  I <command> <return>  to replace it with another command,
or  <return>  to continue without it.

For \dh:

 ...&  &  &  & \textdegree{} &  &  &  & 
                                                  \tabularnewline

For \TH:

 ...istered{} & \textthreequarters{} &  & 
                                                   &  & \tabularnewline

For \th:

 ...} & \textthreequarters{} &  &  &  & 
                                                  \tabularnewline
