Hi. Sorry for the delayed response.

There is currently no roadmap. With the pkg-maemo packages one can now
run a basic Hildon desktop in a Xephyr window[0] or actually on the
N800[1].

The packages have been in progress for a while, and are finally getting
uploaded now. There are, however, some delays -- the theme packages are
licensed under CC by-sa 2.5 which is non-free. Updating these packages
to use 3.0 is on the cards at the moment though.

I haven't thought about what will happen after the core packages are in
the archive, but I suppose we will continue packaging other Maemo
packages.. That's about as close to a roadmap I can give right now!

Indeed -- just when I thought Ubuntu had hit an all time low with QA and
basic quality of package, Nokia blow them out of the water. The big
problem at the moment, however, is that not all of Nokia's stuff is
free, so packaging their entire repository will not bring the same
IT2008 functionality. This is especially obvious with the scratchbox SDK
kit they provide[2].

Hopefully this is slightly interesting.
