Hello,

I do not know why you removed my fixed in version... but indeed this bug 
ins not present in unstable with this version. So this bug is somehow 
specific to etch. Please do not remove this fixed for this specific 
version. This means that this bug is present in older version but not 
above this one. And indeed it is fixed with this version in unstable.

Can you please try to rename your ~/.mc folder and try again with the 
version in etch and in unstable? (and remove the folder between these two 
tests and report again? I'll hope that this fix the issue, since it will 
be not possible to get a new mc version into etch (according to pkern).

As you see in the attached screenshot this works for me. with the version 
in unstable.
