I have worked on the package quite a lot recently. I have completely
rebuilt the list of files, so that now all the files are packaged and
updated the other scripts.

Previously, many configuration files were left out which resulted quite
a bit of angry messages on the mc / mc-dev mailing lists when the shit
has hit the fan...

The package now builds fine on all Canonically-supported flavors of
Ubuntu and works for me like a charm. I would appreciate if you could
review my stack of changes and if you want to revert something PLEASE
let's discuss it first. E.g. I am not sure whether the empty links file
should be left alone or removed altogether.

If everything is fine with you then we can perform a merge with the
mailcap branch.
