[Pkg-mc-devel] Bug#520026: mc: ESC+TAB unnecessarily quotes ~ in path names

Package: mc
Version: 2:4.6.2-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

ESC+TAB unnecessarily quotes the ~ char at the beginning of path names.

To reproduce (assuming that $HOME/Desktop directory exists):
1. start mc and enter the following in its command line:
	cd ~/Desk
2. press ESC+TAB.
3. mc will happily expand the command line to:
	cd \~/Desktop/

On the other hand mc correctly expands user names, e.g.
`cd ~rob' and ESC+TAB gives "cd ~robert/'
but pressing ESC+TAB again gives a list like `\~robert/somedir1/',
`\~robert/somedir2/', etc.

Regards,
robert
