Package: mc
Version: 2:4.7.0-pre1-3
Severity: wishlist
The MC editor offers the very helpful feature of wrapping
text to a pre-defined paragraph length upon pressing Alt-P
on the first line of a paragraph. I am using that a lot when
answering emails in order to wrap "endless" lines from
broken mailers (where all the text of a paragraph is on one
line).
I typically use levels of ">" before quoted lines as is
customary. When Alt-P wrapping long lines only the first
line will have the > in front of it, of course. It would be
great if mc could recognize one or a few characters as line
quoting characters and optionally offer to prepend those to
wrapped lines if existent on the first line.
Those are examples of line starts I am thinking of to be
prepended depdending on the first wrapped line:
>
>>
> >>
>> >
>> > >
As one can see, there can be spaces intermingled within the
quoting chars.
Thanks,
Karsten
