Status in Midnight Commander - text-mode file manager: Fix Released
Status in “mc” package in Ubuntu: In Progress

Bug description:
Binary package hint: mc

When ever you set the file sort to do it by name, and toggle it to be case insensitive, hidden files (those which the file name starts with a '.') will get sorted by the first letter, instead of the first character.

I've tested this under the last several releases of Ubuntu (8.04, 8.10, 9.04, 9.10), all with the default locales
