I am having the same problem. Just got done installing 11.04 fresh. On
an Intel MB DX58SO with i7 cpu. NVidia eVGA GTX285 graphics card, with
dual monitor.

EVERY single time I attempt to resize the konsole window, it locks
tight. I can see a <> type cursor that tries to move a little once in
awhile, like it is hung in resize mode. I do not see anything in the
logs including the x.org.log files that indicate what is going wrong.
This is a royal pita!

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help fix this. Oh...
using Kbuntu...

  mc brings kde to freeze while window size changing

Status in “mc” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: mc

  kubuntu 11.04, upgraded from kubuntu 10.04,
  mc opened in a terminal.
  crash and desktop-freezing occurs everytime while changing the terminal window-size.
  The only way out from that is resetting the compleet system
